On February, 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine.  Many Ukrainians, including radio amateurs and their families, were forced to leave their homes.  Many homes were also destroyed by the bombing. Worldwide, radio amateurs have asked us how they could donate to help Ukrainian families.  We greatly appreciate the generosity and offers of assistance.

How to provide support:

Responding to the donation requests, we have created multiple ways to make donations. 100% of donations will go to humanitarian aid to Ukrainian families.

Option #1: Funds of any amount can be donated using PayPal and this special e-mail address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

“STAND WITH UKRAINE”

RADIO MARATHON

Beginning April 14, 2022 at 00:00 UTC

The civilized world is demonstrating seamless solidarity with Ukraine, providing humanitarian aid, military equipment, and imposing sanctions in an effort to limit russia’s ability to finance and conduct its war of aggression against the people of Ukraine.

Governments, international organizations, businesses, celebrities, and ordinary citizens from countless countries are standing strong with Ukraine in the fight for peace and freedom in Europe.

Radio amateurs -- around the world -- are rallying their support, too. This is the spirit that embodies the global “Stand with Ukraine” Radio Marathon.

Participation is Easy

EM5U is the HQ station of the Ukrainian Amateur Radio League (UARL) and the Central Radio Club of Ukraine.

EM5U will be active from the 141 countries that voted in favor of the March 2, 2022 United Nations General Assembly resolution that reaffirmed Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity (https://news.un.org/en/story/2022/03/1113152). For example: W2/EM5U.

In addition, any radio amateur around the world can show solidarity on the air by adding the letter U (for Ukraine) after his or her call sign. For example: KB1EHE/U.

Radio amateurs who assist us in activating EM5U from their country will be honored with a special commemorative distinction on the EM5U website.

Ideas and opportunities regarding the “Stand with Ukraine” Radio Marathon are continuing to develop. Please visit this page regularly for the latest information. We welcome your thoughts and ideas, too. Proposals for the Radio Marathon should be sent to the following email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. Thank you for your support!
